Challenge: Food Materials, Food Ingredients, or Food Additives That Have Effects on Skeletal Muscles or Blood Vessels

NineSigma, representing a leading food manufacturer with sales of tens of billions of US dollars (several trillions of yen) (“Client”), seeks food materials, food ingredients, or food additives that have effects on skeletal muscles or blood vessels.

These effects on skeletal muscles include an increasing mitochondrial biogenesis and function such as adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production in skeletal muscles, while those on blood vessels represent an increase in vasodilatation, and an improvement in vascular endothelial function. Proposals on food materials, food ingredients, or food additives that are confirmed to have these effects are welcome.

Because of the recent extension of life expectancy and people's pursuit of quality of life (QOL), there has been a growing interest in the maintenance and improvement of the health status. In response to this, the food and pharmaceutical industries have developed, produced, and launched a variety of functional foods.

With this situation in mind, the Client has launched this RFP to welcome proposals on food materials, food ingredients, or food additives that directly have effects on skeletal muscles or blood vessels. Specifically, functions such as an increasing f mitochondrial biogenesis, increasing ATP production, and an increasing vasodilatation / improving vascular endothelial function must have been quantitatively confirmed in proposed materials.

Submission to this Challenge must be received by Sep 19, 2021.
